On July 14, Elisabeth Heine and Greta Romahn presented our ‘Living Materials in Action’ exhibit at the Meet the Scientist outreach event in Cologne.
The event provided an excellent opportunity to engage with visitors of all ages, including numerous school classes 😉. Participants learned about the concept of living therapeutic materials and how engineered microorganisms can be integrated into hydrogels for future applications in eye and skin health.
The ProBioGel team offered insights into their interdisciplinary research on a skin-healing living gel patch and highlighted how collaborations between microbiology, materials science, and medicine drive innovation in this emerging field.
Events such as these play an important role in bringing science closer to society and fostering interest in the next generation of researchers. A big thank you to Elisabeth and Greta for your dedication and commitment!
