From mid-April to mid-July, Leonie completed an SPP2451-funded research stay at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim, Norway, contributing to her PhD project and the SPP2451 project “Adaptive Biomaterials through Mechano-Modulating Bacteria.”
Working with Prof. Johannes Kabisch and his team, she gained new perspectives on her research and explored alternative approaches to scientific problem-solving, significantly advancing her project in just three months. She also benefited from the expertise and support of Prof. Catherine Taylor Nordgard, particularly in the analysis of biomaterial-related data.
Beyond the laboratory, Leonie took part in several NTNU community events, including the Institute’s PhD gathering, the NTNU Jubilee celebrations, and the annual Grilliade. Together with exploring Trondheim’s mountains, fjords, and coastline, these experiences made her stay both scientifically rewarding and personally memorable.
