Professor Pokorski earned his B.S. in Biochemistry from UCLA in 2002 and a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Northwestern in 2007. While at UCLA, he worked in private industry designing and testing biomedical devices that are currently in use around the world. He conducted postdoctoral research at the Scripps Research Institute, focusing on drug delivery using engineered viral nanoparticles, and received prestigious NIH fellowships. He joined Case Western in 2012 and moved to UCSD’s NanoEngineering department in 2018.

He will share exciting updates on his research. His lab combines chemistry, protein engineering, and materials science to develop biomedical materials. The title of his talk is ‘Evolution or Intelligent Design? Using ELMs for a Sustainable Future’.
