Dalia Dranseike (dranseike.com) recently completed her doctoral studies in the Macromolecular Engineering Laboratory of Prof. Mark Tibbitt at ETH Zurich. Her research focused on additive manufacturing technologies that enable living functionalities in materials, exploring how material and process design influence cell behavior for tissue engineering and living materials. As part of her work, she developed hydrogel-based encapsulation strategies to integrate photosynthetic species such as cyanobacteria and microalgae and studied their potential for carbon sequestration. She has now joined the Food Structure Engineering Laboratory of Prof. Patrick Rühs at ETH Zurich, where she is expanding her expertise towards biomass processing and mycelium-based biomaterials.

On October 22nd at 11 am she will share exciting updates on her research: Design and Manufacturing of Photosynthetic Living Materials for Carbon Sequestration.
